Each academic year, an award is given with an amount determined by a Senate decision, which can be used to cover travel expenses, participation in conferences, and the purchase of equipment. c) Academic unit strategy for research activities in specific fields of scientific interest A Research Planning Committee has been established within the Department, which: (a) is responsible for monitoring and encouraging the Department&#8217;s faculty members to align their research with the expectations set by the results of the internal evaluation regarding productivity, (b) is responsible for verifying that the research activity of the faculty members is relevant to their subject area and falls within the research planning of the Department, (c) is responsible for gathering and monitoring the research programs in which faculty members participate, their publications, the conferences they organize or attend, and publicity actions in general, (d) seeks funding (through NSRF or HORIZON 2020 programs or International Organizations) to enhance the Department&#8217;s research activity and the publication of research articles in international journals, (e) organizes thematic conferences for young scientists and calls for papers aimed at presenting their research and professional work, (f) monitors and provides data on the participation of undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral researchers of the Department.
