Admission Requirements & Criteria

Entrants are selected on the basis of the following criteria on a 100-point scale:

  • Undergraduate(bachelor degree relevance and grade
  • Undergraduate degree thesis
  • Postgraduate degree title
  • Good knowledge in English
  • Good knowledge in a second language
  • Work experience
  • Research activity
  • Participation in sports
  • Motivation letter
  • Letters of recommendation

 

The Master’s Degree Programme, issues once per year a call for applications for the next academic year of operation indicating among other the necessary supporting documents, as follows:

  1. Application form using the template available on the Master’s website (compulsory)
  2. Copy of bachelor degree(s) from Greek or foreign Higher Education Institutions proving full time studies with a duration of at least three years (compulsory)
  3. Copy of bachelor degree transcript (grades from all subjects and from all the years of study, including the degree’s grade and stating the date of award) (compulsory)
  4. Certificate including the bachelor’s title of thesis and its grade (if applicable)
  5. Copy of postgraduate degree(s) where available (if applicable)
  6. Copies of language certificates proving a) good knowledge of English language (compulsory) and b) adequate level of knowledge in any other language (optional)
  7. CV – extended curriculum vitae that includes a detailed description of studies, professional experience, research and/or scientific work as well as any extracurricular activities (compulsory)
  8. Documents supporting the above mentioned professional experience and research activity of the applicant i.e. copy of publications in scientific journals, copy of any published work etc (if applicable)
  9. Clear photocopy of Passport or ID Card (ID Card only for European Countries) (compulsory)
  10. Two recent passport size photographs with candidate’s name (compulsory)
  11. Copies of publications in scientific journals, copies of literary works etc. or in any sport event organization (if applicable)
  12. Proof of participation in sporting events, IOA activities, Olympic Education seminars, sporting events (if applicable)
  13. A letter of recommendation from a University Professor (compulsory)
  14. Additional letters of recommendation and in particular those from National Olympic Academies or Committees or sporting organizations will also be considered, if available
  15. Any other proof of project or activity that may assist in selecting the candidate (optional)

 

By submitting their application, candidates explicitly accept the processing of their personal data for the needs of the Programme (GDPR- European General Data Protection Regulation, ΕU 2016/679).

The required documents for the application have to be certified and translated as follows:

Certification of documents

For Greek applicants:
a) Documents from state institutions
Clear photocopy of the original document or of its genuine stamped copy (the stamp must be clearly visible on the photocopy)
b) Private documents
Clear photocopy of private documents which have been certified by a lawyer or by a civil service (the stamp must be clearly visible on the photocopy)

For foreign applicants:
Clear photocopies of documents issued by foreign authorities which have been certified by the Apostille certification, by the Greek Embassy/Consulate or by a Greek lawyer are accepted (the stamp must be clearly visible on the photocopy). All other document copies must be certified by an official institution. Certified copies of degrees and transcripts are also accepted if issued by a Higher Education Institution and sent in the Institution’s official stamped and sealed envelopes.
